He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Frank and Mila Motes Holmes. He is survived by: his wife Judy Lane Holmes; his sons, Michael W. Holmes (Deanna) and Jeffery Holmes (Mary); and his grandchildren, Lexie, Thomas and Kathryn Holmes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Men's Club of First Methodist Church in Andalusia, and to the First Methodist Church general fund in memory of Wayne Holmes.
