He was predeceased by : his former life partner Mozell Compton; his parents, Walter Compton and Lessie Marles Compton; his daughter Melba Compton; and his siblings, Shelley C. Clark and Ed Compton.

He is survived by : his wife Bertha Lee Compton of Andalusia, AL. He is also survived by Son - Monty Compton, SC, Son - Kenny Compton, TX, Son - Stan Compton, OK, 9 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
