He is survived by: his wife Linda Gail Pouncey; his children, Ginger Ellis (Royce) and Russell Oliver (Lauryn); his grandchildren, Wyatt Ellis, Russ Oliver, Ragan Ellis, Alex Oliver, Becca Ann Oliver and Dawson Sasser; his sister Judy Nelson; and his stepdaughters, Kim Glidewell and Linda Stallworth.
