He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lewis and Madge Sowell; and his niece Aimee Sowell. He is survived by: his wife Sue Sowell; his sons, Shannon Roos, Justin Roos and Adam "Roho" Sowell (Yvonne); his grandchildren, Kayla Yates (Joey), Elizabeth Mitchell, Cameron Roos (Emma), Hunter King and John David Sowell; his great grandchildren, Taylen Grooms, Jantzen Yates, Eleanor Marie Roos and Annie Roos Yates; his brother Larry Sowell (Linda); and his nephew Jeffrey Sowell (Karen).
Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Keahey Funeral Home (206 Stanley Ave, Andalusia, AL 36420). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
