He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Watson Knox and George L. Knox; and his brothers, Donald R. Knox and Benny Joe Knox. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Tomlin Knox of Andalusia; his children, Jodie Knox Moody of Montgomery, AL, Fran Knox Faircloth (Justin) of Washington, DC and Jayson Wayne Knox of Pensacola, FL; his grandchildren, Knox Bradley Moody, Vivian Caddy Faircloth and Joelle Madeleine Faircloth; and his sister Glinda Simmons. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
