Obituary
Dezaree Inez Woods Beverett was born on March 11, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey, to Willie Woods and Loretta Cunningham. She transitioned from this life on December 19, 2025, in Anniston, Alabama.
Dezaree was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and a true friend to many. She was united in marriage to Ronnie Beverett, Sr., and at the time of her passing, she was engaged to Tameko Jones, who stood faithfully by her side. Together, they built a family grounded in love, strength, and perseverance.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children: daughter Katrell Hambright; sons Lamont Beverett and Ronnie Beverett. She was a proud grandmother to Kyree Woods, Lamont Hambright, Jerry Hambright, William Lawson, Etta March Breasia Calhoun, Lamont Calhoun Jr., Zion Beverett, Jayanie Beverett, Janiya Beverett, and Dorian Beverett. She also leaves behind fifteen nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Dezaree is survived by her sisters Michelle Bowie Hambright, Erica Woods, and Dorthea "Cookie" Williams Hopkins; and her brothers Frank Woods, Eddie Woods, and Robert Woods.
For more than 30 years, Dezaree dedicated her life to caring for others, serving faithfully as a CNA and LPN at Beckwood Manor and Jacksonville Rehabilitation Services. Nursing was not just her profession — it was her calling.
Known for her outgoing and loving spirit, Dezaree was always ready to help, celebrate, and uplift those around her. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend who stood firm in her ways — and everyone knew she did not play the radio.
Dezaree was a faithful member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ohatchee, Alabama, where she remained rooted in her faith and love for God.
