He was predeceased by: his wife Lania Pope; his brothers, Phillip Pope and James Pope; his parents, Alexander Steven and Mary Susan Pope; his son Robert Wayne Braddy; and his great grandchild Joshua Blake McWilliams.
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Cook (Joe), Susan Sikes, Sandra Whatley (Mike), Becky McWilliams (Dennis Austin), Michael Pope (Lan), Luann Braddy and Ellen Wood (Jim); his brother Joe Pope (Betty); his grandchildren, Stephanie Buchanan, Amy Borbet, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Whatley, Jake Whatley, Michael Smith, Lindsey Webb, Kelsey McWilliams, Chase McWilliams, Conner Pope, Ashly Pope, Lucas Pope, Michelle Lee, Wesley Braddy, Joshua Alexander, Caleb Wood and Jonathan Wood; and his sister-in-law Glenda Pope. He is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
