He was predeceased by: his son Rickey Hayes; his son-in-law Kevin Greene; his sisters, Viola Smith, Louise Smith and Mary Matson; and his parents, James Clifford and Zelma Mae Hayes.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Medders Hayes; and his children, Tara Greene, Tighman A. Turner V (Paula Walker) and Amanda Hayes. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
