She was predeceased by: her mother Teresia Held; her sister Fredericka; and her father America. She is survived by: her husband Lee Dawson; her children, Leonard Rhoads, Mary Johnson, Kathy Miller (Steve), Harold Rhoads (Pam) and Lee Dawson Jr. (Kim); her grandchildren, Kristy, David, Brooke, Amber, Jimmy, Chris, Harold Jr., Aiden and Gabe; and her son Jesus. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
