Rita Young Bennett Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Young Bennett of Anniston, Alabama, who passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: the father of her children James Langston "Sonny" Bennett; and her husband Sion Augusta. She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Bennett McKenzie (Ken), Kim Bennett Jenkins and Tracy Bennett Smith (Steve); her grandchildren, Kenneth McKenzie (Barbara Jean), Mashay Wood (Seth), Jerrica Sadler (Jonathan), Sonny Crisp (Sam), Sterling Jenkins, Bennett Smith (Kathleen) and Cat Smith; and her sister Edna Collins (Tom). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; eight nieces and nephews.
