He was predeceased by : his former life partner Marie Milstead; his parents, Cecil Milstead and Ida Mae Milstead; and his siblings, Edna Milstead, Rosie Wilkerson, Wayne Milstead (Wanda), Eugene Milstead and Joe Milstead.

He is survived by : his brother Harlan Milstead (Shelia); his nephews, James H. Milstead, Shannon Watkins, Austin and Gunter Champion; and his niece Brianna Champion. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
