He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McCain, Sr. and Lezonia McCain; his wife Vera Mae McCain; his son Lee Houston, Jr.; his brothers, Billy Joe McCain, Horace McCain, William "Sonny" McCain and William Ernest McCain; and his sisters-in-law, Mary McCain, Geraldine McCain and Betty McCain.
He is survived by: his children, Tangela McCain-Cross (Herman), Donnie Houston (Idella), Thomas L. McCain, Lamar McCain (Denise) and Carlos McCain, Sr. (Candice); his siblings, Charles L. McCain (Mary C.), Walter Dean McCain (Eugenia) and Mary L. McCain-Smith; and his sisters-in-law, Barbra Finley, Ervette Lawler, Minnie McCain and Jerry McCain. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
