It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Horace Norman Fortner of Arab, Alabama, who passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, E. A. "Dock" Fortner and Burney Duvall Fortner; his son Philip; and his siblings, Donald Fortner, Cary Fortner, Robert Fortner, Gladys Byrom, Helen Stillwell and Sue Sadler.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Travis Fortner; his daughter Angela Williss (Scott); his grandchildren, Andrew Fortner (Kelsey), Lindsey Purviance (Steve), Jackson Williss (Sara Beth) and Nick Williss (Cenzley); and his great grandchildren, Knox Fortner, Pierce Fortner and Judd Fortner. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel (1340 N Main St, Arab, AL 35016). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Brooklyn Cemetery.
