He was predeceased by : his parents, Mac Grindle and Emma Grindle; his wife Ruby Grindle; and his siblings, Fannie Barns, Mattie Grindle, Emmitt Grindle and Robert Grindle.

He is survived by : his children, Mary Stallings (Kevin), Mark Grindle (Jennifer), Linda McClain (Ricky), Sandra Chapmon (Mark) and Patricia Andrews (Chris); his grandchildren, Elijah Stallings, Annabeth Grindle, Adam McClain, Daniel Larmon (Kym), Amy McClain and Jessica Ward (Matt); and his brother Kenneth Grindle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
