He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard William Sherer, Sr. and Margaret Helen Fredrick Sherer; his son Phillip Jeffery Sherer; his siblings, Robert Sherer and Rita Klien; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Ulmor, Bernard Denhof and Joe Klein.
He is survived by: his wife Lila Ruth Clark Sherer; his son Christopher Sherer; his siblings, Richard William "Dick" Sherer, Jr. (Barb), Betty Denhof, Mary Klein (Carl) and Faith Umlor; and his sister-in-law Joan Sherer. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews; 40 great nieces and nephews; and 7 great great nieces and nephews.
