He is survived by: his children, Melisa Stone (Mitch), Chris Hemphill (Brooke), Matt Hemphill (Stephanie) and John Michael Hemphill; and his siblings, June Loy and Doug Hemphill (Sheryl). He is also survived by five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
