He was predeceased by : his wife Nellie Lanford; his daughter Cheryl Lanford; and his parents, John Lanford and Mable Lanford. He is survived by : his children, Thomas Lanford Jr. (Kristie), Dewayne Childress (Jennifer), Johnny Childress (Karen), Steven Childress (Traci) and Sharon Childress; and his siblings, Bobby Lanford, Richard Lanford and Lynn Langley (Donald). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
