It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Townson Kelsoe (Arab, Alabama), who passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Street Townson and Mattie Lou Atchley Townson; her husband Cecil Clarence Kelsoe; her siblings, Odis Townson, Ovis Townson, James Durham, Christine Norris and Eudie Murphree; and her son-in-law Russell Quinn.
She is survived by: her daughters, Pamela K. Quinn and Martha Sue Cox (Jim); her grandchildren, Amber Melton (Mike), Luke Cox, Adam Cox (Allison), Blake Cox (Stephanie) and Whitney Nixon (Scott); her great grandchildren, Emma Melton, Parker Melton, Blakely Cox, Anderson Nixon and Hollynn Nixon; and her siblings, O. C. Townson (Sara), Bobby Ray Townson (Rhonda) and Fay Netherton.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Shepherd's Cove Hospice in Velma's memory.
