He was predeceased by : his parents, Earnest Eugene Strickland and Juda Catherine Wilson; and his siblings, Louise Ward, Eugene, Don, Paul, Sammy, Almus "Tap" and Alvis "Bit" Strickland.

He is survived by : his son Scott Strickland (Hope) of Decatur; his brother Russell Strickland (Lavette) of Athens; his granddaughter Lydia Strickland; and his great grandchild Alina Mayfield.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 7th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church No. (1610 Hickory Ln, Arley, AL 35541). A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 7th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Strickland's honor to the Bethel Baptist Church NO. 2 or The Old Bethel Cemetery fund.
