He is survived by: his wife Shelba Sims of Ashford, Alabama; his children, Krystel (Rusty Martin), Charles (Jan Whatley Sims), Mark (Kim Jeffcoat Sims) and Gene M. Sims of Huntsville, Alabama; his grandchildren, Justin, Kristi Martin of Pansey, Tre', Joni Eubanks of Gordon, Tiffany, Josh Hoover of New Have, Tyler, Shelby Sims of Fort Gaines, Georgia, Zachary Sims of Dothan, Emma Sims of Auburn, Jarrett and Kelli Kelley of Odenville, Alabama; and his brother Phillip (Kaye Sims). He is also survived by his 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home (2414 Hartford Hwy, Dothan, AL 36305). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
