He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Berry Pitts and Nina Bell Foster Pitts; and his siblings, Catherine Horne, Sybil McWhorter, Patsy Pitts, Bernice Pitts, Rev. Thompson Pitts and Fred Pitts.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ashley Peterson (Matthew) of Ashland, Tracie Smith (Keith) of Ashland and Kellie Duke (Eddie) of Auburn; his stepchildren, Burell Davenport of Mississippi and Danley Fenell (Jason) of Oxford; and his brother Wesley Pitts (Margaret) of Talladega. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
