He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Cornelius Nappier and Lettie Birchfield Nappier of Missouri; and his siblings, JoAnne N. Cleveland, Jimmie Sue Short, William Hugh Nappier, Walter Robert "Bobby" Nappier and Michael Lee "Nub" Nappier.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley C. Nappier of Ashland; his son Duane Nappier (Wendy) of Ashland; and his stepsons, Keith Petttis of Piedmont and David Pettis (Cindy) of Lineville. He is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
