He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Rowell and Adell Rowell; and his siblings, Troy Rowell, Phyllis Smith, Doug Rowell and Tim Rowell.

He is survived by: his wife Cindy Rowell; his sons, Cody Rowell and Jody Ray Rowell; his siblings, Elgin Rowell (Maxine), Becky Kisner (Randy), Barbara Rowell and Michael Rowell (Eric Rowell); and his sister-in-law Kim Liner (Kent). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
