He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jim" Gentry and Alma Milstead of Talladega, AL; and his wife Laura Martin Gentry. He is survived by: his children, Kristi Gentry Whetstone of Ashland, Jason Gentry of Sylacauga, Tracie Smith (Keith) of Ashland and Kellie Duke (Eddie) of Opelika; his grandchildren, Jasmine Stephens, Kayla Gentry Hubbard (Jared), Cole Gentry, Hannah Smith, Connor Duke and Claire Duke; and his great grandchildren, Amiyah, Carson, Ethan, Everleigh and Josie Lynn.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Benefield Funeral Home-Ashland (85499 AL-9, Ashland, AL 36251). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
