He is survived by: his children, Melanie Blackburn of Athens and Corey Blackburn (Joanna) of Heath, TX; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Blackburn of Addison, TX, Katherine Blackburn of Charleston, SC and Ian Blackburn of Heath, TX. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Sardis Springs Baptist Church (18310 AL-251, Athens, AL 35613-4626). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
