He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Jackson Burns and Mary Edna Matthews Burns; his stepmother Ila Mae Claxton Burns; his brother Frank Burns; and his brother-in-law Glenn Woodfin.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Raney Burns; his children, Tommy Burns (Susan), Angela Craig (Tim) and Bethany Jackson (David); his grandchildren, Brandon Craig (Tonya), Nathan Craig (Brooke), Elijah Jackson, Hannah Jackson and Levi Jackson; his stepgrandchildren, Sonya Delk and Joe Yarbrough; his great grandchildren, Austin Craig, Grayson Craig, Maggie Craig, Cassidy Craig and Kaden Craig; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Josie Yarbrough, Will Delk, Jack Delk, Tommy Delk and Emma Delk; his sisters, Judy Abernathy (Wesley) and Wanda Woodfin; and his sister-in-law Barbara Burns. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
