He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Marion Sims and Irene Russell Sims. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Sims; and his children, Justin Sims, Carrie Sims Evans (Jeremy), Beth Lamar (Daniel) and Rebecca Sims. He is also survived by three brothers, seven sisters, and ten grandchildren.
