It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Sloss Jr. of Athens, Alabama, who passed away on August 13, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sloss, Sr. and Bernice Hall; his stepparents, Maxine Sloss and Boyd Hall; and his brothers, Bobby Jo Sloss, Charles Sloss and Dr. Jimmy Sloss.
He is survived by: his wife Emma Mayberry Sloss; his children, Tracie Sloss and Fred Sloss, III (Marsha); his siblings, Emily Carpenter, Dr. Wade D. Sloss (Bette), Sylvia (late Charles Sloss) and Thelma; and his parents-in-law, Teresa Mayberry, Shirley Mayberry (late Leo Mayberry), Edward Mayberry (Frances), Jessie Mayberry, Jr. (Denise), Bettye Gilbert, Robert Mayberry (Rhonda) and Donald Mayberry (Vicki). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
