With profound sadness, we say goodbye to George Thomas Craig of Athens, Alabama, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. George left this world on December 4, 2025 at the age of 73, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Buren Craig and Jeanne Satoko Craig. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Craig; his children, Peggy Jean Craig (Matt McCaffrey) and Jeremy Craig (Lee); his grandchildren, Joji McCaffrey, Luca McCaffrey and Naomi Craig; and his sisters, Frances Shipman (Kenneth) and Angelia Johnson (Robert). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church (16751 US-72, Rogersville, AL 35652). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in George's honor to the food pantry at Covenant Presbyterian Church of Germantown (2385 Riverdale Road, Germantown, TN 38138) or Alabama Legal Services (P.O. Box 20787, Montgomery, AL 36120).
