He was predeceased by: his parents, Granville Tyler and Frances Elliott Tyler. He is survived by: his wife Kay Herd Tyler; his children, Dr. David Tyler (Beth) and Derinda Gainer (Chris); and his grandchildren, Adam Tyler, Tyler Gainer, Luke Tyler and Ellie Gainer.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Roselawn Cemetery (709 Memorial Dr SW, Decatur, AL 35601).
