It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Michael Porter of Athens, Alabama, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on October 30, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Claude Porter and Bernice Nell Harris Porter; and his granddaughter Rowyn Lee Granados. He is survived by: his wife Doloris Porter; his daughter Heather Granados; his son-in-law David Granados; his son Steven Haworth; his grandchildren, Jared Porter, Dominic Granados and Savannah Granados; and his siblings, Charles Porter, Kenneth Porter, Robert Porter, John Porter, Mary Wester and Carla Marting. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
