He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Smith and Perni Rogers Smith; his wife Bobbie Lamar Smith; and his siblings, Charles Smith, Louise Heard, Leona Smith and Patricia Babb.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Smith, Phillip Smith (Cynthia), Sheila Swann (Charlie), Helen Bullock (Ed) and Brenda Smith; and his sisters, Betty Stallions and Peggy Sullivan. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, as well as 6 great grandchildren.
Heavens Way Baptist Church will be accepting donations on behalf of James Smith.
