It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Katherine Yarborough Horton of Athens, Alabama, who passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Donelson Branch Horton; and her brother David Archie Yarbrough. She is survived by: her children, Leslie Pate (Joe), Maclin Horton (Karen), David Russell, Kathy Garrett (Johnny) and John Horton (Christy); her grandchildren, Katherine Bibb, Darrow Bertolina (Ryan), Jackie Wiggs (Michael), Will Horton, John Horton (Claire), Ellen Yeager (Greg), CJ Horton, Jesse Canterbury, Anna Blaxton (Matthew), Ginny Shuler (Ryan), Nori Horton (John Royer) and Emily Horton (Dana Radcliffe); and her great grandchildren, Skyler, Wyatt Bibb, Drew Bertolina, Henry, Elise, Thomas Horton, Emmitt, Lucas Yeager, Amelia Canterbury, George Blaxton, Palmer Shuler, Hannah, Theo Royer and Cedar Radcliffe.

A graveside service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Athens City Cemetery (501 W Washington St, Athens, AL 35611).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Athens First Methodist Church, Hospice of Limestone County, or DHR (Children's Christmas Fund).
