He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Long and Florence Long. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Lawrence Long; his daughter Farrah Nicole Long (Chris Mankin); his granddaughters, Lauren Simpson (Preston Ikard), Danielle Mullis (Jay Mullis) and Lena Simpson (Hayden Robertson); his nieces, Laura Peek Stanford (Daron Stanford), Traci Peek Daniel (Brian Daniel) and Kim Peek Craig; and his sister Nancy Ann Long Peek (Kenneth Peek "Skinny"). He is also survived by great nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends that he counted as close family, and brothers and sisters.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home (322 US-31, Athens, AL 35611). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
