He was predeceased by: his parents, Georgia Mae Thompson (Reyer) and Daniel D. Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Delores Thompson; his son Edric Thompson of Baltimore, Maryland; his siblings, Jackie Thompson (Vicki) of Lebanon, Tennessee, Sandra Zirbel of Athens and Debbie Bailey (Sam) of Opelika, Alabama; and his nephews, Stanley Leopard, Minister, Steve Moseley, Edric Thompson, Ben Creel and Jared Steltenpohl. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home (322 US-31, Athens, AL 35611). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Hodges Cemetery.
