It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda Wood Thompson in Athens, Alabama, born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on May 6, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband James E. Thompson; her parents, Ralph Wood and Essie Mae Barry Wood; her cousin John Dewey Wilson; and her pets, Bam Bam, Caggles and Muffy.

She is survived by: her daughter Holly Thompson Sault (Patrick); her grandchildren, Victoria Murphy (Brandon), Colin Douglas (Fatima) and Craig Douglas (Alyssa); and her cousin Betty Joanne Marina. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Linda to the Nashville Humane Society.
