With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lois Maxine Wheeler in Athens, Alabama, born in Wichita, Kansas, who passed away on December 17, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, E. Duane Hempsmyer and Ida Hempsmyer (Hastings); her husband Billy Wheeler; and her sons-in-law, Brad Hellman and David Arrington.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy LaMere (Loren), Pamela Scott, Kevin Metcalf (Brenda) and Annette Metcalf; her stepdaughters, Vicki Hardaway and Becky Arrington; and her brother Jerry Hempsmyer (Julie). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, other relatives and friends.
