We are sad to announce that on July 22, 2025, at the age of 93, Melba Mavoureen Carlisle Stroud of Athens, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar D. Carlisle and Flora Brooks Carlisle; her grandson Allen W. Stroud II; and her siblings, Donald Carlisle, Benny Carlisle and Murleen Melvin.
She is survived by: her husband Wesley D. Stroud, Sr.; her children, Wesley D. Stroud, Jr., Jerry C. Stroud (Deborah) and Nina Stroud Smith (Dennis); her grandchildren, Rebekah S. Gleason (Scott), Samuel C. Stroud (Annette), Megan K. Stroud, Gina S. Garrett (Travis) and Carla K. S. Smith (Chad); her great grandchildren, Daniel, Micah, Eli Gleason, Braydon, Addie Stroud, Annie, Dean Garrett, Roy and Abigail Keathley; and her brother Douglas Carlisle. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:50 PM at the Sardis Springs Baptist Church (18310 AL-251, Athens, AL 35613). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Mrs. Stroud's memory to Hospice of Limestone County.
