It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Ruth Johnston of Athens, Alabama, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her father Robert Schrimsher; her husband Sidney Johnston; her mother Rebecca Schrimsher (Pepper); and her sister Carolyn King. She is survived by : her children, Nancy Johnston (Jean-Paul Ebe), Susan Ackerman (Steven) and Nick Johnston (Wendy); her sister Bonnie Snoddy; her grandchildren, Hannah Ackerman, Rebecca Ackerman, Hayle Torres (Tyler), Seth Johnston (Hannah) and Eli Johnston (Natalie); and her nieces and nephews, Monica, Sally, Jennifer, Genie, Neal Jr., Brian and Keith.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home (322 US-31, Athens, AL 35611). A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Athens City Cemetery (598 Washington St E, Athens, AL 35611).
