He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Bowers and Prudie Mae Bowers; his stepmother Clara Bowers; his siblings, Billy Wayne Bowers, Jeanette Pack and Charles Bowers; his sister-in-law Sue Bowers; his daughter Kelli Gordon; and his great grandchild Tyler Abernathy.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Jean Bowers; his son Kevin Bowers of Odenville, AL; his grandchildren, Amanda Gordon Abernathy (Philip) of Killen, Laura Gordon Stout of Phoenix, AZ, Matthew, Bradley Bowers of Odenville, AL and Amie Bowers of Centre, AL.; his great grandchildren, Logan and Jenna Abernathy; his brothers, Al Bowers of Birmingham and James Bowers (Rita) of Elkmont; and his brother-in-law James Pack of Athens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
