Patricia Gail Raney Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Gail Raney of Athens, Alabama, who passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Patricia shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Patricia farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Wright and Mable Irene Wright (Estes); her husband Ross Raney; and her sons-in-law, Douglas Burke, Dennis Rogers and Michael O'Brien.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Rogers, Bobbe O'Brien, Bette Pniewski (Richard) and Daniel Raney (Patricia). She is also survived by seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home (322 US-31, Athens, AL 35611). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Poplar Creek Cemetery (11295 Poplar Creek Cemetery Rd, Athens, AL 35611).
