He is survived by: his son Jonathan Barksdale (Casie) of Athens; his grandchildren, Dyson Barksdale (Clara) of Cullman, AL and Kyndal Barksdale of Sandy Springs, GA; his great grandchild Mary Elaine Barksdale; his siblings, David Barksdale (Barbara) of Toney, AL, Sylvia Howard (James) of Toney, AL and Kathy Pristas (Ken) of Plainfield, IL; and his brother-in-law Billy Wayne Kay of Hazel Green, AL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
