It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sheila Dianne Guthrie McKnight of Athens, Alabama, who passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Buren Guthrie, Sr. and Eunice Vining Guthrie; and her siblings, Billy Guthrie, Wayne Guthrie, Carolyn McGlocklin, Janice Gooch, Hollis Guthrie, Laverne Guthrie and Sharon Usery.
She is survived by: her husband Pete McKnight; her daughter Kim Elliott (Chad); her grandchildren, Elijah and Elizabeth Elliott; and her siblings, Barbara Hemphill (Tommy), Susan Holt, Daryl Guthrie and Phyllis Spencer (William). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
