He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Schmieder and William Paul Schmieder. He is survived by: his wife Martha Gordon Schmieder; his sons, Will Schmieder and Carlton Schmieder; his sisters, Karen Ellis (Keith) and Mary O'Halloran (Matt); his nieces, Jill Varnagatas, Haley Ellis and Erin O'Halloran; and his nephew Liam O'Halloran.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of Limestone County or St. Paul's Catholic Church.
