She was predeceased by: her parents, Col. James Cleveland Herring and Lillian Shirley Baker Herring; and her brothers, James Cleveland Herring Jr. and John Roy Herring. She is survived by: her daughter Caitlin James Hutto; her son-in-law George Christopher Wells; and her granddaughter Vivian Celeste Wells. She is also survived by two siblings, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to animal welfare organizations in lieu of flowers.
