He is survived by: his wife Betty Jones Wales; his children, Jan Sanborn and Jeff Wales (Julie); and his grandchildren, Clay Wales (Kelsey), Sara Wales, Matt Sanborn (Betony) and Jessica Smalling (Will). He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
