He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvie Smith and Zelpha Ruth Tribble Smith; his wife Barbara Ann Smith; and his sisters, Naomi Walker and Betty Lewis.
He is survived by: his son Greg Smith (Tammy) of Athens; his grandchild Lauren Askew (Palmer) of Loxley, AL; his great grandchildren, Allie, Norah and Lucy; and his siblings, Alvie Smith of Athens and Martha Tyler (Bobby) of Athens.
