He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Adell Powers and Milonea Powers (Waddell) of Toney, AL.. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Taylor Powers; his daughters, Kellie (Keith Helms) of Charlotte, NC, Kristen (Jason Thomas) of Nashville, TN and Kara Ruth (Chad Charapata) of Chattanooga, TN; his brothers, Jerry Powers (Jennie) of Greenville and Steve Powers (Mary Jo) of Toney, AL; and his grandchildren, Kelsey Hawkins, Carter Hawkins, Amber Thomas, Caitlin Thomas, Andrew Charapata and Carter Charapata.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to the Good News Club (Child Evangelism Fellowship), Cru or Hixson First Baptist Church Children's Department.
