With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dink Spence Jd of Atmore, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 27, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Lois Heathcock Spence; his former wife Helen Macks Spence; his parents, John A Spence and Alice Albritton Spence; his son Billy Ray Spence; and his siblings, Alton Spence, John W. Spence, Marie "Lady" Locke, Doris Payne and Annie Mae Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Spence of Walnut Hill, Florida; and his children, John C. "Johnny" (Diane Spence) of Walnut Hill, Florida and Susan "Sue" (John Welch) of Bay Minette. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Petty Funeral Homes (9260 US-31, Atmore, AL 36502). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
