He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chapman Sanford, II and Emily Webb Sanford; and his wife Martha Sue. He is survived by: his children, Emily Turner Sanford Hugh (Mark) and John Sanford; his grandchildren, Emily Hugh Blakeney (Connor), James Hugh (Kaylee) and Amie Stanley; his sisters, Sydney Sanford Dranka (Pete) and Kay Sanford Gonzales (Joe); and his sister-in-law Jonni Lynn Hale Oakes (Bill). He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
